Hi, I'm Shaunessy.

I am currently based either back home in Dallas, Texas or in Hudson Valley, New York if I'm at school. I am a daughter of German immigrants, but I grew up in Texas. Currently, I study Violin Performance and German Studies at Bard College and Conservatory of Music. When I'm not playing the violin or studying, I like to go to farmers' markets, play the ukulele, read, or organize photoshoots with friends.

I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember; when Instagram was founded, I would take photos of the canyons in Utah and post them to my account at age 12. Capturing different views of nature and experimenting with the depth of a photo are some of my favorite things about photography. While editing shots from a session, I find myself reciprocating the smiles of people in the photos I've taken. My goal is to capture the emotions of a moment, keep it frozen in time, and bring life to two-dimensional media.

The goal for each session is to provide personalized results that meet the criteria of the vision you had in mind. Sessions with me do not have time limits, we take as much time as is needed to get the results you are striving for. I do not consider photography to be work, so I carefully and intentionally spend time on editing photos and making sure clients are satisfied. During shoots, I try to help the client feel as comfortable as possible so that they can show their authentic selves in the photos. I guide clients on how to pose and change facial expressions because at the end of the day, I just want them to feel beautiful!
